Renowned conflict trauma specialist and journalist Justine Hardy will host a discussion on the impact of stigma surrounding mental health, especially in the context of South Asia. What is the psychological aftermath of partition, and does it hinder the process of reconciliation in the region?
Justine Hardy has extensive fieldwork experience in Kashmir through her initiative 'Healing Kashmir,' an integrated mental health project that focuses on the rehabilitation of those who have suffered as a result of conflict and the psychological damage of violence. A British author and journalist, Justine has written books and reported on issues ranging from war to Indian cinema. Her work has been featured in various publications including BBC, Financial Times, The Times, NG Traveler, and Vanity Fair. Justine lectures regularly within the UK, US and India, including her annual appearance at the Oslo Forum Freedom as a human rights activist.
